Don qualified with PWC in Adelaide before moving to London with Deloitte. He has worked in the stockbroking and corporate advisory fields in London and Melbourne and moved back to the accounting profession in 1998. Don was in partnership with lan Unkenstein, for 20 years before starting UPA Accounting in 2018. Don's firm merged with T H White in 2023. He is a SMSF Specialist and has extensive experience in business advice and investment theory.
Don is a keen cyclist and poker player (Texas Holdem) and is an avid reader and follower of politics.
In 1914, Thomas Henry White began working as a young Chartered Accountant in Melbourne’s Essendon area, quickly establishing himself as a dependable and competent accountant. His reputation soon spread and, as the business grew, he partnered with another accountant named Rankin, forming the firm Rankin and White. Rankin and White developed a large client base, providing services such as taxation advice, business advice and auditing services to companies located in the Melbourne area.
In 1929, White left the Rankin and White partnership to establish his own accounting firm, T H White & Co, which quickly became one of the leading accounting firms in St Kilda, Melbourne, Victoria.
